They won't even send a representative from the campaign. If he won't talk to us now, he won't talk to us as Governor. Read more about it in the upcoming CLIFFNotes.

PetStupid
November 13th, 2009 - Petsmart or PETSTUPID. Petsmart's Cheryl Perkins answered our letter asking for help in funding the Environmental Impact Report. We enclosed a calendar and the first quarterly report from the EIR with the letter.

"Your product has been reviewed and after careful consideration, we will not be including in our current product assortment."

Their consideration wasn't too careful - they didn't even read the letter!

Natura Pet Won't HelpNovember 9th, 2009 - Natura Pet, makers of Evo pet foods including one for ferrets unsubscribed from CLIFFNotes. We sent Eric Akaba, who someone said would be our contact a letter and calendar asking if they'd like to help fund the ferret legalization EIR. Their response was to hit the "Unsubscribe" button. Please remember this when buying your pet food.

October 2nd, 2009 - I want to write about Pet Insurance for the next CLIFFNotes. Anyone have any info they'd like to share? Please send it to CLIFFNotes@legalizeferrets.org.

September 7th, 2009 - $412 raised so far for Bosco, the ferret with the intestinal blockage. What makes it sad is Bosco did not survive the night after the surgery. His owner, Shelly, who recently lost her husband and her cat left me a package at the vet's office. It was miscellaneous items meant to express her gratitutde. The whole thing leaves me very sad and I need to give Fausto and Quito extra attention.

Marshall PetSeptember 2nd, 2009 - Marshall Pet Products to pay $1600 per quarter towards the EIR - so the EIR is half paid for! Thank you Marshall Pet Products!

Zupreem Ferret foodSeptember 1st, 2009 - Zupreem not able to help with EIR expenses - Jennifer McDaniel informs us "I have read through the request, and unfortunately we are not able to provide any monetary sponsorships for the remainder of 2009, unless they have already been pre-approved in our Budget.  I am sorry that we are not able to assist Legalize Ferrets at this time, but we thank you for thinking of ZuPreem."

August 26th, 2009 - Ferret Depot is sending a check for the Environmental Impact Report. I feel like I'm extorting money from them, and it is 2 down 14 to go. THANK YOU FERRET DEPOT!

Ferret Depot LogoAugust 26th, 2009 - In response to a posting on Joe Ferrets Facebook page that I wasn't going to send my order into Ferret Depot because we haven't heard back from them regarding a request to help support the Environmental Impact Report - Ferret Depot Responds, "We have just received this letter 2-3 weeks ago and have not decided what to do as far as donation or help.  Please note, we are one of the largest contributors in the ferret community as far as donations and sponsorships for events..." "Right now we are in the middle of sponsoring multiple ferret shows and events and haven't had the chance to yet, nor had a chance to look at the budget to see what can be made available for them.  The California quest is noteworthy and I am sure we will be involved somehow." Steve Yarbrough, Ferret Depot.

August 25th, 2009 - Made it to the post office box today. No checks or letters from any of the 16 companies we asked to help support the Environmental Impact Report. I know they get a lot of requests but at least an acknowledgement would seem in order. After all, our request came with full documentation from Sacramento State University. So - I won't be placing an order for Ferret Depot. I'll order directly from Marshall Pet Products who has acknowledged our request and will try to support it.

August 24, 2009 - Join the "California is Golden" Facebook page and help explain why we're actually tarnished. California is the land of special interest and disenfranchisement of the little guy. Nevada doesn't look so bad! California is Tarnished

tika ferret tumorAugust 19, 2009 - Tika survived surgery, "90% out of the woods" according to Dr Jenkins. The tumor will be sent out to be tested and Tika should be in her new home tomorrow. Click on the tumor for a larger, and more disgusting view.

TikaAugust 17, 2009 - This is Tika, the hunch backed ferret. She will have her surgery on Tuesday or Wednesday to have a tumor removed from her throat. The photo doesn't do the tumor justice

August 13, 2009 - Decided we want to do the surgery on the ferret with the glandular tumor. We collected donation for Ferret Bueller's vet bill but someone anonymously paid that bill. So it isn't too difficult to start with $500 for this ferret. Still waiting on some test results though.

August 12, 2009 - rescue ferret with lump at her throat has a glandular tumor. The surgical prognosis is not good, the potential vet bill will be high and we don't know what to do.

August 12, 2009 - almost done with the initial work updating this site, but I like the Northern California Ferret Club's website better!

August 11, 2009 - we're under construction!
