The Orange County Pet Expo runs next weekend, April 16 through 18 at the Costa Mesa Fairgrounds. Look for us in Booth 1627.
We'll be signing up people to receive this newsletter. That's our banner above. In addition we have 800 2010 LegalizeFerrets.org calendars to give away and our new " Test Your Ferret Knowledge" brochure."
We've got three 2' x 3' photos to hang up:
Note on the albino. That isn't the camera that created red-eye, that is a red eye albino ferret. (I got an email suggesting i fix the red eye last time I ran that photo.)
And lastly, we'll have an over sized petition for people to sign urging Governor Schwarzenegger to legalize ferrets with the three above quotes on it. I think we'll do a great job of educating people and signing up more people to CLIFFNotes - or better yet, memberships in the 3,000 Club.
Another Legalize Ferrets Revival September 25th in Concord
We've signed the contract, we will be holding another ferret revival on Saturday, September 25th at the Holiday Inn in Concord. We're hoping to attract 125 attendees.
The event is from noon to 8pm. A small buffet will be available. By that date we should be about to file the actual Environmental Impact Report required to legalize ferrets. In addition we will be inviting top candidates for Governor and our current Governor. Don't hold you breath - but we'll invite them.
I am looking for a speaker on ferret behavior and Dr Gandolfi will be speaking on ferret health. More details to come but look forward to an excellent program and ferret camaraderie. If you have suggestions for speakers, please send them over!
We are hiring a video crew to interview people and put together documentary about California ferrets and their humans. I have a ton of material to go through but hope to have that nailed down in a few weeks.
Save the Date!

In Conclusion
I hope our third of four pre-EIR reports is released from Sacramento State university shortly, I really want to get this legalization thing over.
To the right is an image from a newspaper dated July 9th, 1993. How ridiculous to have to spend so much time on something that should be a no-brainer.
Now we'll have an initiative on the ballot to legalize marijuana in California - it is expected to pass. What's the big deal with California joining the other 47 states and legalizing ferrets?
Is this the "learned helplessness" that Governor Schwarzenegger refers to? (see above).
Thanks for sticking with us. I am looking forward to the day when we win and we can take our ferrets outside and say "See - no babies were eaten, no endangered species wiped off the earth, it isn't a big deal!"
