We ask for cute photos of ferrets but I can't decide if this looks like its from Alien or the photo they use at the Ag Checkpoints when you enter California

Patches and Norm - 2 Ferrets Needing Most Excellent Home

Hi, my name is Patches, and my brother is Norm.  We come from a very loving family where we are allowed to roam part of the house when our owners are home.   We have a 4 story penthouse that  we live in otherwise.  Unfortunately our owners are moving and heartbroken that they can't take us with them.  We would like to stay together and are looking for a loving home, with lots of interaction and love.  Our penthouse and toys come with us.  If you are interested in having us as part of your family, please email my owner Allen at chappellaw@cox.net

Wysong Comes Through to Help with the Environmental Impact Report

The Wysong Company has pledged a generous cash contribution and an affiliate program they say will bring us more money to help pay for the current study needed before we file the actual Environmental Impact Report.

Wysong makes a line of dog, cat, ferret and horse foods. Click on the image above to visit their web site. They offer natural products, and you can read the ingredients of their product on their website.

Wysong joins Marshall Pet Products and Ferret Depot as corporate contributors to the EIR.  Their contribution makes it a little easier to fund the $13,000 we need for the study, called the "Ferret Survey of North American Governmental Agencies Research Project" which has to be completed before the EIR is actually filed.  Read first quarterly report here.

- A very big thank you to Walter at Wysong for getting this going!
Finally, A Crystal Ball To Tell Our Future
It's My Birthday and This is What I Wanted!

We've often wished we could use a crystal ball to tell our future.  To make my birthday party a little more interesting we are bringing in a certified psychic.

Will the EIR be ignored?  Will child-eating ferrets be found in the wilderness of New Mexico (the mythical el chupacabra)?  Or will we be successful and finally achieve ferret legalization in California?

This astrologer will use THE STAR CASTER, her own unique creation, and do a group reading about the present and future of our ferret club.

You should also be able to get your own individual reading too! - Depends on how many people attend, but it will be interesting to see our psychic at work.

If you don't happen to recall - I'm turning 51 on Dec 25th.  On Christmas morning I'm heading out to Las Vegas to pick up two babies and returning the next day.

On Sunday, Dec 27th we're having a party.  We will have a Philipino buffet and red velvet cake.  If you'd like to bring presents, please bring anything that Linda Soule's ferret shelter could use - because I already have plenty.  Linda has mentioned Costco Gift Cards as her most prized gift.

The party is from 3 to 6pm.  Let me know if you are coming and I will give you my La Mesa (San Diego area) address.

I hope to see you there! Please email dsrj@cox.net or call 619-303-0645 to reserve or for more information.

Medical & Behavior Advice Still Available

Marshall Pet Products told me they didn't have time this week to prepare the column on ferret care, but the column will be ready in time for next week's CLIFFNotes.

If you have a ferret related question you can submit it directly to Marshall Ferrets at ferrets@marshallpet.com and know that your question will be answered by the people who have more ferret experience than anyone else in the world - pretty nice!

In Conclusion

The contribution from Wysong means we can breath a little easier when the bill for the 2nd quarter EIR report comes.

We are going to reach out to the 1600 people on our mailing list where we have a postal address but not an email address. Click here to see the mailer. Isn't our graphic artist Heidi fantastic?

I hope we sell a lot of calendars - New Years is coming.  If you haven't ordered yet (I know you are sick of reading this)  There's still time!

Thank you for your continued support of these efforts.  Despite such a horrible economy, we've made tremendous progress this year! Perhaps ferret owners are turning the economy around!
