Letters
I am hurting too, Pat. I always cry when I read your news and messages from other people. My beautiful white Tohoma died several years ago and I still cry over him. I am a 79 year old woman who misses her baby so terribly even now. I can not properly care for a ferret now but sure love them. Good luck to all of you. Anne P
Hi Anne -
I certainly don't want people to cry after reading these newsletters. I think you have to have a strong spirit to be a ferret lover, they just aren't with us long enough. Above is my partner Jim with Daisy. What a rich life she had and she certainly enriched our lives. Looking back, I am truly greatful to have shared some time with her. And if you have several hours I'd love to tell you of some of her escapades.
Pat
We still have these key chains with lights for only $4 and lots of other merchandise.

Ferret Depot Steps In For the Environmental Impact Report
Thanks to Joe Ferret Extorting the Money
Well, thats not exactly what we wanted to do. I posted on Joe Ferret's Facebook page that no companies besides Marshall Pet Products had even responded to our request. As a result, I wasn't going to place my order with Ferret Depot, who is my favorite supplier.
Joe's friends on Facebook contacted Ferret Depot and within a few hours they asked where to send the check.
So please look below. Who do you like to buy from, what products do you use? If it is a company listed please send them an email, fax or letter and say "I really like giving you my ferret related business, but I've noticed you didn't answer the letter you received from LegalizeFerrets.org regarding the EIR.
Each company below was sent the following documentation to show we are serious and credible about this:

Rescue Results
We had a number of rescues last week, all with happy endings.
Nino and Raton were living in a car with newly homeless owners. The Humane Society referred their owners to us. After a trip to Dr Jenkins for a checkup they were adopted out and are doing well. I feel very bad for their past owners and I truly hate these economic times.
I have not been able to hear about the status of Tika, the ferret with the giant glandular tumor. Last I heard they were still having an issue with swelling. I was hoping to get some post surgical photos for this issue of CLIFFNotes. Hopefully, next week.
Is the Horrible Mountain Dew Ferret Commercial Playing Again?
I received two emails about the infamous ferret with a chain saw Mountain Dew commercial. For those of you newer to CLIFFNotes, here it is:
Actually, even though this video tends to upset a lot of people on this email list, a lot of people will watch it.
In Memorial
It has been a hard month for a lot of ferret owners and I received a request to run this memorial.

Hi Pat!
Can you post an obituary for Critter for next email update? I had to take him to the emergency vet last night, the one on hotel circle, and we had to put him to sleep, as there was no chance of recovery. He'd been sick for a long time, losing weight and listless, and not sure why. Dr. Jenkins was treating him and he's going to do an autopsy later. Now, he's in no more pain, at least, but of course I'll miss him :(
Critter was a Sacramento ferret, male, very playful but nippy! His family includes myself, Riceball, and Manju (aka Riley).

In Conclusion
Steve Yarborough of Ferret Depot was a very good sport regarding our request for funding for the EIR.
I hope some of the other companies will come through, and if they don't even bother to reply, their products won't be welcome in my house.
I am eagerly waiting to hear what our friends at Marshall Pet Products heard back when they meet with Petco officials. Petco hasn't answered us, despite first being to get the letter and our having enclosed $25,000 worth of Petco receipts.
Finally, the 2010 Legalize Ferrets Calendar should be ready for pre-sale next week. Hope we sell thousands to help pay for the Environmental Impact Report!
