EIR Talk Now on the Web

Dr Geo Graening's talk at the Legalize Ferrets Revival III in San Diego Oct 11th is now on our website. It is about 65 minutes long, so when you have time go to http://www.ferretsanon.com/ and you'll know exactly what he said.

Dr Graening is our consultant for the EIR and we are waiting for work from the "working group" to be compiled and published. In his talk he says he won't take on the project until that part is completed.

We Are Broke - What Else is New?

The Legalize Ferrets org checking account is at about minus $200. The recent revival was a real drain on the finances, mostly because of the mailer I sent out. We also had speaker expenses that kind of hurt. Attendance was somewhat below anticipated and we spent about $300 extra on dinners that weren't eaten.

But - it was important to get Geo down to San Diego and talk about the EIR. We also paid to have his talk videotaped. While struggeling to inbed the video on the website, a $100 contribution came in - that was so much appreciated!

The letter in last week's CLIFFNotes about The Ferret Lovers Nightmare Is very nice and these people very much love their ferret. But when I read the part about them giving their ferret raisins for a treat. This could harm her ferrets, ferrets are carnivores. They should never have fruits. Some Ferret Foods show ferrets can eat fruits and this is not good for them. If there is any way you can let these people know this. It would be wise not to give their Ferrets Fruits or Vegs. In Conclusion

Last week I sent out an email to the CLIFFNotes list asking people to vote no on Proposition 8. It did get a mention in the San Francisco Gate's Blog - http://www.petconnection.com/blog/2008/10/16/when-is-a-ferret-like-same-sex-marriage/.

A few people objected and that is ok - I appreciate the fact that they went to the trouble to express themselves without being insulting.

The San Diego no on 8 office sent out an email asking for people to work the phone bank calling undecided folks. Why not have a Ferrets Anonymous group working the phones - if interested, please call or email me. The times would be 5:30 or 6 to 9 or 9:15 in the evening.
