Hi there!
I would like to make a suggestion to add a forum to the legalize ferrets website for members to talk to one another with issues and questions about their carpet sharks. I have a question regarding the latest Cliffnotes, you mentioned videos...could you go into more detail about that idea in your next news letter? I thought it was a great idea. Thanks! Thank you for the suggestion. There is more info on the YouTube contest in this issue. A forum is a great idea - there is already one out there. Please visit: http://www.lovingferrets.com/. * * *
I would like to welcome any ferret owners to California. A beautiful State to live in was born and raised here. The only problem is our Government, They seem to think our Pets and That have become part of our families are a threat to the State. Be not taking the time to find out important facts about them, they also are missing out on a loving and terribly funny pet, they give so much back to the owners . If it hadn't been for our baby Toby well he is 2 yrs old already, but still our baby. When I had back surgery he came and got in the bed and kept me company for 2 weeks. We played some and bit toes and other necessary things not too strenuous for me, just kept my spirits up and amusement too. He has been such a wonderful companion, that I have adopted 2 more. We got all 3 from Nevada and drove them home. If you check cliff notes people can let you know ahead of time which check points are open or closed. We came home through the Tahoe area, with no problems Please feel welcomed to California Karen and Toby |
The Ferret TV Commercial is Done!
Remember back to last year's Ferret Legalization Revival? We started the meeting with two gentlemen in need of ferrets for a commercial they were going to produce, remember? Well, the commercial is done and its ready for the world - starring local ferrets.
YouTube Contest in The WorksI've noticed an increasing number of videos on YouTube from people who love their ferrets. A few even mention LegalizeFerrets. Next week we will unveil a contest for the best YouTube ferret legalization video. We are looking for a theme of "Ferrets as Family" to counter DFG's theme - "ferrets as dangerous wildlife."
The official rules will be announced soon, but they will include:
Below are some videos already on YouTube. (Click to play) So get your video camera and ferrets ready - be creative and be loving. Videos that show anything that could be harmful to a ferret in any way will not be considered. There used to be an old slogan that the revolution wouldn't be televised (I remember the 60's!) but this Re"love"ution is definitely going to be videotaped!
Ferrets Don't Have Talent - But They Are Entertaining
While looking at YouTube - I came accross this gem
Don't Forget About the Ferret Environmental Study!
It is nice to have something going on besides the ferret environmental study - but that really is the most important thing we've got going on.
To those of you new to CLIFFNotes - we are gathering data to begin an environmental study to satisfy Governor Schwarzenegger's request for one. When he vetoed a ferret amnesty bill in 2004, he said the state needed an EIR (Environmental Impact Report) before he would sign such a bill. He also said he would sign any ferret legalization bill to hit his desk when he was first running for governor - so we are skeptical.
But a full blown EIR would remove the Department of Fish and Game's only reason for opposing ferret legalization. I can't emphasize enough how exciting this is - and that I think ferret legalization is on the right track, is organized enough and has the resources to at long last pull off ferret legalization.
New FA President is Hardcore 4 Ferrets
![]() Three weeks ago, Lance M. took his wife Dawn to get a ferret-themed tattoo. Before he left the house, he grabbed a memory card and a card reader and headed to True @ Heart Tattoo in Lake Forest, CA. While Dawn was figuring out what she wanted to have done, Lance found Allan Rivera, a tattoo artist at True @ Heart who had a cancellation that day, and started going through the memory card with him. After nearly three hours in Allan's electric chair, one huge Snickers bar and a massive Rockstar energy drink, Lance had a lifelike portrait of his favorite photo of a ferret on his right shoulder. We'll call this imaginary ferret "Koko".
Bikers have tattoos of chicks & skulls, but our President is sporting a mustelid.... go figure! In Conclusion -
Thank you everyone for your continued interest and support!
Good things are happening. I sent out a letter seeking sponsors for the ferret YouTube video contest. We are looking for cash and ferret goodie donations. Sponsors will be prominently listed on the web page. I hope to have everything ready by next week.
